Mantra Vega!

Dear All,

As a few teasers on Facebook have suggested over the last fortnight or so,

I am thrilled to reveal exciting new band project Mantra Vega!!

See exclusive news feature from PROG magazine below!

Mantra Vega is a new transatlantic progressive rock band from Myself and Dave Kerzner (former founding members of the bands Mostly Autumn and Sound of Contact respectively) along with Chris Johnson (Halo Blind), Stu Fletcher (We Could Be Astronauts), Alex Cromarty (Mostly Autumn) and featuring legendary guitarist David Kilminster (Roger Waters).

Mantra VegaMelding together their wide range of styles and influences in Progressive, Classic and Alternative Rock, Mantra Vega offers a fresh blend of female and male lead vocals and harmonies, atmospheric soundscapes, emotional dynamics and powerful moods. From Heather Findlay’s stunning vocals ranging from angelic to powerful, to the lush keys, guitars and sound design of Dave Kerzner and Chris Johnson to soaring guitar leads from Dave Kilminster and soulful groove from the Cromarty/Fletcher rhythm section, there’s something fresh and new for fans of artists like Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd, Kate Bush, Fleetwood Mac, Yes, Radiohead, The Beatles, Sigur Ros and more.

Whilst still continuing with our individual solo/band projects we are currently well under way with the writing and recording for our first album and are hoping to tour towards the end of this year.

Due to a schedule with Nightwish that grew and grew like the porridge in The Magic Porridge Pot story, Troy Donockley and I have decided to postpone the album we were woking on until 2016. My apologies to you for this as I know how excited you all were about this particular collaboration. Troy has urged me to reassure you of his determination to make this happen in late 2016.

I have been asked to join the cast for a theatre production of the Ayreon album “The Human Equation”, Arjen Lucassen’s 2004 Rock Opera. I loved recording this album and always hoped that would be presented live once day so I am thrilled to have been asked on board.

Vocalists are currently being announced weekly. To join in the fun and have a chance at getting hold of tickets for one of 3 exclusive shows in Holland next September.

(Special pre-registration starts Monday May 19th, 2014 at 20.00 CET)

Duo gigs with Chris

Thank you so much to all of you who joined Chris Johnson and I last month for ‘A Night to Remember’ at York Theatre Royal in raising over £11,000 for Alzheimers Society! Well done Ian Donaghy for putting together such a heart warming event of compassionate giving!

Come and join Chris and I again at ‘Trinity Live’ on Sunday 18th May in raising money for multiple cancer charities in a day of progressive rock at Leamington Assembly Rooms. The day will feature performances from Arena, Touchstone, The Reasoning, Magenta and others.

More news very soon!

Much love,

H xxx
